  • How can I start a timer?

    Really? Well, ... tap on the huge green button to start a timer. But beware, it will turn red. And that's where you can stop a timer.

  • How can I discard running timers?

    When a timer is running, you can edit it. Search of the little box with the cutter knife to shape your active timer just the way you want.

  • I started a timer (yesterday) and it's gone now. What happened?

    Timers are discared, when they run 24 hours. If you work longer in a row, please get help.

  • Can I add time to another project, while a timer is running?

    Yes. proof doesn't care about that. Your customers might do.

  • Can I add time yesterday/ some other day?

    Yes. There are two ways. Go to the History tab and scroll to the day you want to add time to:

    • If there are already logged work-hours, just tap to see more details and the Add time button will appear.
    • If you don't have work-hours in that project or at all on that day, just add time anywhere and move it to the proper point in time using the edit function.
  • What happens if I "Take A Break"?

    Three things are going to happen:

    1. The current timer will be stopped.
    2. A countdown will start and automatically start a new timer, when it reaches 0 seconds.
    3. You will have a wonderful break.
  • Can I change the break timer?

    Yes. You have three options:

    1. Start tracking right away (tap on the green button).
    2. Cancel the break and not start working again.
    3. Extend (change) your break. #bestoption

  • How can I get started with automations?

    Please refer to the Automation Docs from the Support section of this website.

  • Is there a limit on automations?

    No. You can put as many automations to work as you can manage.

  • I have a (break) timer, what will happen to it, when I trigger an automation?

    If you are starting a timer (using start or toggle), you will override everything else:

    • Already running timers are stopped.
    • Break timers are discarded.
  • Can I trigger automations from other apps/ software?

    Yes. Basically proof automations use URL schemas.

    You can open proof-URLs anywhere on your device and the app will open and trigger the action.

  • What's an URL-encoded string? How can I convert my project name?

    It's way machines can transfer text with special characters. If your project name is just letters and numbers, you don't need to care about it.

    If your project names are more complex, you can use the URL-encoder tool I am providing inside the Automation Docs.

  • How does the project sorting work?

    Projects you have been working on or edited, move to the front. But, a running timer is always in the pole position.

  • Can I have multiple projects with the same name?

    Yes. Just make sure, you know which one is which? But you can use colors for that...

  • Is there a limit on the number of projects?

    No. There never will be.

  • Where are my older projects?

    On your tracking screen you only see the three latest projects. If you scroll to the far right through your projects, you will see an option to see all Projects. Tap on that, and you will see a list of all of your projects.

    Hint: The fastest way to get there is through the little PROJECTS headline above the project list.

  • Can I archive projects?

    No. There is no way to archive things. Projects will just be sitting in the past. And they will still be there, when you need them again.

History & Export

  • How can I edit work-hours in my history?

    Just tap on the work you want to edit. An edit screen will open up.

  • How can I add work to a day, that does not have any work-hours?

    The history view is optimized to only show what's actually there. This is why you don't see empty work-days. To create work-hours in any part of your history

    • Add time to today in a project of your choice
    • Edit the newly created work logs. You can change the start date and project as you like
  • How can I add work to a project, I haven't been tracking on that day?

  • Where is the export for time-sheets?

    Check the History tab. It's in the top right corner.

  • Can I export multiple projects in one file?

    Yes. From as many projects as you please.

  • Are there other files types that CSV and JSON available?

    Not yet. A PDF export will be coming later.

  • Why do I need an e-mail address for this app?

    Your e-mail address links you to your account. With other features ahead you can log into another device and still have all your data available.

  • I am not getting an e-mail when trying to register/ login. What's wrong?

    The e-mails I am sending you usually only take up to a minute or two. Please check if your e-mail address is correct.

    The easiest way to retry with another e-mail address is to restart the app.

    If this problem does not resolve, please contact me.

  • Why is there no password? Is it still secure?

    Yes. The app stores a secure token to validate your subscription. But that's nothing you have to worry about...

  • What happens, if I logout?

    The app is reset to it's original state. All your personal data will be deleted. You will still be able to login again with your e-mail address.

  • How can I delete my account?

    Currently there is no need to delete your account manually. I am only storing your account details on a server.

    They will be automatically removed after 1 year of inactivity (when in trial mode). To get to trial mode, when you have an active subscription, just cancel it.

  • How can I try the app?

    Once you downloaded it through the Apple App Store onto your iPhone, you can open it and have the choice to:

    • try it for a sneak peek (works only once)
    • start a 14-day free trial

    When you start the free trial, just follow the few steps to enter your e-mail address. You will need to open an e-mail on your phone.

  • How can I subscribe?

    The subscription is only available through the app itself.

    • Open the app
    • Go to the Account tab
    • Tap on Free trial below your e-mail address
    • Choose from monthly or yearly billing and follow the Apple subscription process.
  • How can I switch between monthly and yearly billing?

    This works only from your AppleID Settings on your iPhone.

    • Go to the Settings App
    • Tap on your Name at the very top
    • Tap on Subscriptions
    • Edit your proof subscription
  • How do I get an invoice for my subscription

    With every subscription period you will get an invoice directly from Apple via e-mail.

  • How can I cancel my subscription?

    This works only from your AppleID Settings on your iPhone.

    • Go to the Settings App
    • Tap on your Name at the very top
    • Tap on Subscriptions
    • Cancel the proof subscription
  • When will my subscription renew?

    You can see that inside your Settings app on your iPhone.

    • Go to the Settings App
    • Tap on your Name at the very top
    • Tap on Subscriptions
    • Look at your proof subscription
  • How long can I wait to cancel my subscription before it renews?

    You can cancel your subscription anytime before the next renewal takes place. It will automatically be active until it reaches it's end.

    You can cancel a subscription anytime right up to the renewal. To be on the safe side, do it at least the day before.

  • I should have an active subscription, but the app says something else. What's going on?

    That's odd. You should definitely contact me!

    No. There is just one app for iPhones right now. If you think this is a mistake, nudge me on twitter or via e-mail.

  • How can I download the app?

    Downloads are only available through the App Store app on your device.
